Welcome to drg roller derby!

Founded in 2011, DRG Roller Derby is Dorset’s first and only team dedicated to female, trans, and non-binary skaters. We are a grassroots, player-owned and run team that prides itself on inclusivity, passion, and fierce competition. Skating under the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) ruleset, we compete in local scrimmages and nationwide events, including the highly-anticipated 5 Nations competition.

SKATER OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER 2025!

1. What’s your derby name, and how did you come up with it?

”My derby name is Dilstruction! Wanted something aggressive sounding that included my name (Idil!), as I don’t think in the heat of a game I’d respond to anything by other than “DIL!!!”

2. How long have you been skating with DRG?

”I’ve joined DRG September 2024, with no previous skating experience!”

3. Describe your skating style in three words?

”I’ve been told slippery, nippy and chaotic!”

4. What’s been your proudest derby moment so far?

”My proudest moment is having been lead jammer and scoring some points in my first ever game in Ireland.”

5. What’s your best piece of advice for new skaters just joining us?

”Don’t be too hard on yourself! We all have bad days, don’t let a tougher training session bring you down. Be proud of yourself for showing up in the first place.”

6. How does being part of DRG make you feel?

”I feel part of an amazing community. Everyone has been so kind, welcoming, and supportive, it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done and I mean it! I feel as though I’ve made friends for life. It’s made me feel empowered, strong, and like I’ve found my place. I’ll try not to gush too much but I love my derby family lots and lots.“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
